Bandhani-inspired silk jacquard skirt

This silk jacquard fabric of this lovely skirt is inspired by the famed Bandhani tie-and-dye technique from India. Tiny, white circular motifs are dotted on a grid to create a beautifully textured background. The full skirt flares out from a cinched waist to fall gracefully to the ankle.and is finished with a back zipper and side pockets.

'Bandhani' is a form of fine tie-and-dye that originated centuries ago in the Kutch desert in India and is still practiced by artisanal communities in the region. Craftswomen painstakingly tie small knots in the fabric. The tied fabric resists the dye and the result is inrticate, circular patterns.
We have taken inspiration from this technique and created a bespoke silk jacquard, woven with tiny, circular motifs that are similar to those created by the Bandhani process.
