Crafted from a fresh, eggshell blue, silk jacquard, this beautifully crafted textile is inspired by the traditional Bandhani tie-and-dye technique from India. Tiny white circular motifs contrast with the background silk to add a striking texture and pattern.

A pleated peplum and flared sleeves add finishing touches to the master tailoring for a feminine, timeless jacket. There is an easy front zipper opening for a modern twist.

Model is 5 feet 9 inches and wears UK size 6.

Techniques & Inspiration
‘Bandhani' is a form of fine tie-and-dye that originated centuries ago in the Kutch desert in India and is still practiced by artisanal communities in the region. The term Bandhani is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘bandhan’ or ‘tie’ Craftswomen, working from their homes, painstakingly tie small knots in fabric. The tied fabric resists the dye and the result is intricate, circular patterns, the exact form of which depends on how the tying was done. We have taken inspiration from this technique and created bespoke heavy silk jacquards, woven with the tiny, circular motifs characteristic of the traditional Bandhani process.
